Project description

For over 150 years, the Principality of Monaco has chosen to adapt its town planning to the small size of its 2 km² territory.

The scarcity of available land has led the Principality to gradually expand on the sea with the realization of the Portier’s land-fill, Sporting’s ground-floor, the Larvotto beaches, the Fontvieille district and the extension of port Hercule, for a total of more than 40 hectares gained on the sea, making up 20% of the territory.

To support its development, the Principality has launched a new project of urbanization at sea consisting in creating a 6-hectare district, with a strong ambition for sustainable development and protection of the environment. An ambitious project in BIM, which develops around the creative and technical work of the designers, thanks to the collaboration of all the actors, including for the maritime infrastructure.
